Reproduction ''Shenandoah'' Fullstock Plains Style Percussion Rifle, by Traditions, #14-13-045840-01, .50 cal., 33-1/2'' blued octagonal barrel with a dovetailed long brass-blade front and adjustable open rear sights is marked on right angled flat ahead of breech with the serial number, ''Traditions'' and ''Shenandoah'' over ''Made in Spain Old Saybrook, CT U.S.A. .50 Caliber 1:88'''' in two lines, with a ''Black Powder or Pyrodex Only'' cautionary message on left. Engraved flush-mounted case hardened lockplate and matching hammer; double set triggers; brass furniture including lock screw escutcheons, triggerguard with rear finger-rest, crescent buttplate with long lower tang, fancy pierced patchbox with hinged cover over trap for patches and spare parts, two ramrod thimbles, star escutcheons on either side of forestock, nosecap, and brass-tipped hardwood ramrod; varnished walnut ''Roman Nose'' fullstock. Condition is as new, probably unfired, the barrel retaining all of its original deep black-blue, the brass with a light patina. Stock with all of its original smooth varnish finish and only 2 or 3 very minor handling marks. Action is smooth and crisp; bore appears new showing blue inside and sharp rifling. Est.: $200-$400.
