Reproduction Civil War LeMat "Grapeshot" Two-Barrel Percussion Revolver, by Pietta, with Box, NVSN, .44 cal./.66 cal. over/under barrels, the 6.75 octagonal top barrel is engraved "Col. LeMat" amid scrolled flourishes on top, maker's name, address, and proofs at right, B.P. warning and caliber at left, has complex articulated loading lever at left side; the 5" round under-barrel is unmarked. Round scroll-engraved cylinder fires 9 shots from outside ring, single buckshot centrally. Large open-top frame has central hammer with firing selector at nose and long thumb-lever, scrolled trigger guard with finger-spur, integral straps with lanyard ring at oval butt, 2-pc. checkered walnut grips. Condition is new and unfired, the barrels and cylinder retaining all of its original deep black-blue, the frame/straps showing a lovely plum coloration (minutest wear around lanyard ring), pleasing case colors to hammer and trigger. Grips are mint with sharp checkering. Action is strong and crisp, bores show full blue and sharp rifling in the octagonal barrel. Plain cardboard box has die-cuts for revolver, is very good.
