Reproduction Potsdam-Style 3-Band Percussion Muzzleloading Musket, with red cloth sleeve, #590, .69 cal., 39" round barrel marked "III" and "590" at breech; unmarked flat lockplate with pointed tail has matching large hammer; brass furniture consists of trigger guard with long tangs and steel sling loop at front, wide buttplate with pointed heel, serpentine sideplate, three spring-retained bands (top of the double-strap type with integral front sight and unusual long pipe extending to middle band for the steel tulip-tip ramrod, middle with sling loop), nosecap. Fullstock of oil-finished hardwood has "perch" belly, raised panels at either side of lock, cupped cheekrest at left, step at 3rd band. Mfg'd with metal "in the bright". Condition is near excellent having smooth bright metal. Stock is smooth with two marks ahead of lock, pleasing finish. Action is crisp, smoothbore shows occasional light-to-moderate erosion.
