Restored Astra Model 900 Broomhandle Semi-Automatic Pistol, with Stock and Leather Holster, #17129, 7.63 Mauser cal., 5.5" barrel, high polish blued finish, fire blued small parts, tangent adjustable rear sight, fixed inverted "V" front sight, internal magazine, bolt and mag follower polished in the white, grooved wood grips, and lanyard ring at bottom of gripstrap. Sideplate marked "ASTRA" Automatic Pistol CAL 7.63, Patented July 12, 1928". Right side of frame and barrel have Spanish proof marks. Includes a nice reproduction wood shoulder stock holster, and very high quality reproduction leather holster rig. Condition is excellent as restored, the metal work is almost flawless, with some losses to the definition of the proof marks and lettering, and retaining 99% of its high-polished blued finish, with no visible wear to the surfaces. Trigger, extractor, safety lever, rear sight, firing pin and sight adjustment slide are refinished in a bright fire blue, and only the back edge of the firing pin shows any wear to the finish. Bolt is polished in the white and is very nice. Hammer has a slightly grayish finish, showing little to no wear. Wood grips may be originals, as they have a few small dings and depressions, and tiny holes at the bottom edges. Brass grip screw and ferrules. Bore is a bit dark, but may clean to good, with strong lands and grooves. Action, hold open, and safety all function properly. A very nicely restored gun! Wood stock holster is well made, but shows some sanding scratches to the wood and painted finish to the metal parts. Leather rig to hold the wood stock is very well made, with steel studs, and nice reproduction screw driver/cleaning rod tool with a wood handle; marked on the back with a spurious German maker stamp and dated 1916. Leather has a very nice dark brown finish and shows little wear or use. Est.: $2,000-$3,000. (C&R/PPT)
