Ruger No. 1 Lyman Centennial Edition Grade II Single Shot Rifle, #131-41554, commemorative #L-78-0199, .45-70 cal., 28'' round heavy tapered barrel. Both sides of receiver with scroll and commemorative ''Lyman 1878-1978'' engraving, right side also with an engraved deer. High grade checkered pistol-grip walnut stock with Schnabel forend, Ruger grip cap, red rubber Ruger pad with black spacer and rear sling swivel stud and barrel mounted front stud. Topped with a Lyman Century Model 4x scope with fine crosshair reticle, threaded steel covers, adjustable rings, measures 34'' overall, and is numbered to the gun. Approx. 98% original blue finish remains and metal surfaces rate as excellent overall showing a few light handling marks. Wood is very good showing signs of moderate range use with intermittent shallow impressions, a little higher concentrated at the Schnabel forend; checkering is mostly clean and sharp, both the stock and forend with a good even finish and natural wood grain pattern. Crisp action, excellent bright bore. Scope with scattered light scratches to the exterior, optics are clear. Est.: $900-$1,200. (Modern)
