Smith & Wesson 4th Change Hand Ejector (Model of 1905) Target Model Double Action Revolver, #128858, .32-20 cal. 6-shot, 5'' barrel, blue finish, checkered walnut grips, with target adjustable rear sight, Patridge front sigh, and star mark on butt. Inside of grips are inscribed ''F.J. d'Avignon, Lake Placid, N.Y.'' Dr. d'Avignon was a well-known sportsman of the period and was involved with the 1st Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, NY. Mfg'd approx. 1929. Condition is excellent as factory re-barreled. Frame retains approx. 90% original Carbona type finish; barrel shows post-war tank blue and the same assembly number as the frame. . Left side of frame under grips shows rework date of 9-48, which coincides with the post-war barrel configuration. Factory .32-20 Targets were normally 6'' barrels with a very few 5'' barrels known to exist. Action is tight, timing and lock up are excellent, bore is excellent. Est.: $600-$900. (C&R)
