CORPS REVOLVER. Cal. 38 Spl. S# 748529. Bbl. 4" with integral semi-circular sight blade; standard factory markings on sides and top. Shipped March 10,1941 to U.S.N. Supplies Officer at Navy Yard in Washington, DC. within shipment of 300; 3,000 total (all shipped 1941) S# 748000 to 760000. 4th change in standard Model of 1905 that took place 1915 and made until 1942; continued to present date as Model 10. Diamond center checkered walnut unnumbered service stocks with silver medallions; square butt frame having lanyard loop on butt plus "U.S.N.C.R.C." on backstrap. Case colored trigger and hammer (grooved face). Matching numbered barrel, cylinder & extractor; 5 screw K frame. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory letter dated June 25, 2011 confirming this description; other facts from S&W reference books. CONDITION: good general appearance with areas of cleaned finish being most prominent on backstrap; typical of firearm around salt water environment. Cylinder turn line and high edge wear along with light marks throughout. Very good appearing grips with light marks on edges at butt. Good to very good bright bore with very faint pitting near muzzle. (22-6050/NW). CURIO. $750-1,000.
