Cal. 250-3000. S# 190856. Bbl. 22" takedown with integral front sight base with brass bead blade; empty dovetail at rear. Mfg. 1917 (1914-1921; S# 146500-237500) as introductory model for the 250-3000 caliber designed by Charles Newton being the first to break the 3,000 feet per second barrier (used 87 grain bullet). Many standard features that used to be options such as: rapid taper takedown barrel (9/16" at muzzle), 13 1/4" LOP, perch belly pistol grip buttstock having grip cap plus grooved steel Savage logo buttplate, checkered stock set (wrap around on schnable tipped forend that is matching numbered with "H" plus shorter at 10 1/8" than future takedowns), cross hatch checkered trigger used ONLY on this variation of lever action Savage, curved lever with rounded end and normal brass cartridge counter rotor. Replaced in 1922 as Model 99 series with 99G Model. Receiver non factory drilled and tapped with Redfield 4X post crosshair reticle gloss finished Traditional scope in Weaver Pivot Mount set. Tang factory drilled and tapped for sight with prior mounting screws in place rather than plug screws. CONDITION: good overall appearance with light stock marks plus extra finish with runs and extension onto metal. Hole in buttstock from prior swivel plus lager hole in forend where swivel pulled through. Good to very good metal finish with typical lower receiver thinning from cradling. Noticeably faded case colors on lever with some peppery oxidation. Marks around scope ring screws. Near excellent scope set to include optics. Near excellent bore. (22-6420/NW). CURIO. $500-750.
