Cal. 303 British. S# 40C6278. Bbl. 25 1/4" w/ integral bayonet lugs having front sight blade w/ boxed "S" & "+080". Mfg. 1943 by Savage w/ "U.S." property mark on receiver. "F" marked sight slide on rear sight marked "2-13" w/ fully threaded elevation screw. "S" marked forend nose cap & its band. "S" marked trigger guard w/out provision for sling swivel but w/ lanyard loop. Matching numbered bolt. Bottom of grip area stamped w/ "2" & "3" reading in opposed directions along w/ boxed "S"; zinc buttplate. Hand guard w/ longitudinal grooves on rear section. Light tan sling w/ brass ends attached to non stacking swivel at nose cap; no swivel at forend band. Spike bayonet marked "No 4 MK II" w/ sheath; no frog. MAGS: 1 good "S" marked 10 rd. w/ "S" marked follower. CONDITION: generally good appearance w/ minimal finish on metal portions to include cleaned pitting on forend band also having welded repair at base. Dark oiled stock set with light handling marks to include faint chip in front of trigger guard. Very good bayonet engages lugs but does not turn enough to latch. Very good sling. Near excellent bore.
