COMMEMORATIVE BOLT ACTION RIFLE WITH CASE. Cal. 300 WBY Mag. S# OL-0131. Bbl 24". 1 of only 1,000 Mark V bolt action rifles manufactured in Japan and imported/retailed by Weatherby commemorating the 1984 Olympics. The left side of the barrel is marked "USE ONLY/ WEATHERBY/ .300 W.M." followed by "MARK V" above patent information, and the Weatherby trademark logo above "SOUTH GATE CALIF. MADE IN JAPAN" in gold characters on the receiver. Floorplate is engraved with floral motifs, with "XXIIIrd OLYMPIAD-1984" within a banner at the center. Right side of buttstock is inlaid with a plaque that reads "LICENSED COMMEMORATIVE RIFLE/ (OLYMPIC COMMITTEE LOGO)/ (OLYMPIC RINGS)/ OF THE 1984 OLYMPIC GAMES/ 1 OF 1000". Metal components exhibit a lustrous high polish blue finish, with the bolt body and magazine follower being jeweled. 1 piece Monte Carlo pattern wood stock with checkering at wrist and forearm. Receiver is mounted with a Leupold VARI-X III 3.5-10x40mm scope. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original blue leatherette case containing factory paperwork and a matching factory paper test target. CONDITION: extremely fine, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their original factory blue finish overall. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Stock shows a few light superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise is very good overall. Case exhibits some light exterior wear, but is otherwise excellent.
