EMPIRE GRADE BOXLOCK SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-5/8". S# 659. The 27-3/4" barrels are engraved "CHARLES DALY FINE DAMASCUS BARRELS FEATHERWEIGHT" in milled out portion of matted game rib. Barrel flats and bottoms of barrels are marked with Imperial black powder proofs and Lindner crossed pistol "HAL" logos. Case hardened scallop backed boxlock action features automatic safety, pin cocking indicators, dolls head rib extension, intercepting safety sears and double triggers. Action is engraved with line and geometric borders and some sprays of well cut scroll. "Charles Daly" is on each side. Scroll engraved trigger guard has S# on tang. Prince of Wales grip buttstock made of well veined lightly figured European walnut measures 14-5/8" over black old English pad. Stock features elongated drop points, point pattern checkering and vacant German silver oval. Matching splinter forend with inlet horn tip has Deeley type release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .724. R .723. Restriction: L .015 (mod). R 012 (IC). Wall thickness: L .019. R .020. STOCK: DAH: 3". DAC: 1-3/4". CAST: about 1/4" off. LOP: 14-5/8". WEIGHT: 5 lb. 8 oz. CONDITION: fine. Barrels appear to have been cleaned with phosphoric acid to remove all brown and are presently an overall even gray. Action retains about 30% original case hardening color. Stocks retain most of their original oil finish with many light marks. Pad replaced. Checkering shows considerable wear. Action is tight. Mechanically good. Bores are bright and shiny with some evidence of dent removal in left barrel and a small ding in right about 7" behind muzzle. Barrels ring very well. (01-24662/MGM).
