Cal. 30-06. S# A64. Bbl. 22". Rifle was mfg. by Brazilian firm IMBEL in post World War II era following the general design of the G/K43 German rifles. Between 100 -300 rifles were produced. Receiver marked on left side below rear sight "Mq. S/Aut. .30 M954 SER. A64". Marked on right side "FABRICA DE ITAJUBA " BRASIL". Specimens were reportedly imported by Springfield Armory, but rifle carries no additional markings or import stamps. Bolt shroud, locking lugs, & bolt marked "BT". Bolt carrier marked "L46". Firing pin carrier is unmarked. Chambered in 30-06. Detachable 10 rd. box mag assembly resembles BAR mag. w/ added front lip. Gas system parts were made from Stainless Steel & gas system giving a push button cutoff to allow firing of rifle grenades. Muzzle has coarse square threads for grenade launcher. Rear sight graduated to 1,200m. Blade front sight. Cleaning rod is present. Rifle mfg. w/ bayonet bar. Hardwood stock set w/ grasping grooves in both buttstock & handguard. Provision for side sling on right side of rifle. Flat steel Mauser type buttplate w/ trap. MAGS: 1 detachable 10 rd. CONDITION: stock set has light wear, scattered scratches & handling marks. Metal retains 60% thinning phosphate type finish w/ scattered scratches. Bore has degree of shine w/ well worn lands. (20-888/RW). CURIO. $2,000-4,000.
