The action is patent use #33 & features long top lever w/ central opening to view tumblers under a glass window to determine whether the gun was cocked or not. Action also features pivoting 3rd fastener, usual MacNaughton toggling safety, double triggers & long extended trigger guard for use w/ gloved hand in cold weather. CONDITION: good as mostly refinished. Bbls. retaining over 90% chocolate rebrown w/ fair definition to pattern over numerous light marks & a few pits. Makers name & address almost unreadable. Action is nearly all a pleasing pewter silver to gray, engraving remains clear. Stocks have been refinished in oil & retain nearly all of that finish over some staining & a few marks, & this finish has subsequent marks. Checkering recut & is a bit coarse & haphazard. Bores are shiny but have scattered pitting mostly toward breech ends. Left bbl. w/ some riveling at thin portion. Action is loose, bbls. are off face (this should be put right before any firing). 20 Ga. bbls. retain nearly all of their blue, fit action well & are tight & on face. Gun handles quite well when these bbls. are installed. Case is good, leather scuffed, access. good. A classic Scottish gun, examples are quite hard to find. Usable "as is" w/ 20 Ga. bbls. Original bbls. in need of some work which is well worth doing. (01-18169/MGM1). ANTIQUE. $6,000-10,000.
