W/ CASE. Cal. 28 Ga. S# 470184. Bbls. 28". Steve Lamboy reintroduced the Ithaca NID & made it in a number of grades, calibers, & configurations between the late '90s & early 2000s. Estimated total production is 500 units. This gun is of the early American assembled series & has all correct ICD nomenclature on water table. This gun has 28" bbls. w/ slightly swamped matted concave rib & fixed chokes. Scaled down Ithaca boxlock type action w/ rotary locking bolt features automatic safety & gold plated dbl. triggers. Action engraved in usual "4E" style w/ 80% coverage lg. shaded acanthus surrounding scenes of birds on sides; duck on left & pheasant on right. Bottom of action engraved "ITHACA CLASSIC DOUBLES" "VICTOR NY" in oval band surrounding scene of standing woodcock. Blued trigger guard w/ scroll on bow & S# on tang. Nicely crotch figured American walnut, straight grip buttstock measures 14 7/8" over hard rubber ICD buttplate. Fancy pattern checkering w/ fleur-de-lis ribbons through pattern is at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend w/ inlet ebony tip has "J" spring & secondary Deely type release. MEASUREMENTS: BARRELS: Bore diameter: R .552 L .553. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original cardboard shipping box w/ this gun's S# on end label. CONDITION: very fine w/ evidence of some light field use. Bbls. w/ some silvering along top rib, action showing some hand carry wear at bottom front. Case colors remain at over 90%. There are a few minor marks in original stock finish. Bores are excellent, mechanically excellent. These guns are quite hard to find today & are quite desirable, especially in 28 Ga. (20-1660/MGM74). MODERN. $3,000-6,000.
