Cal. 410, 3". S# FW131651. The Ideal Grade featured a case colored sidelock action w/ tasteful oak leaf engraving on lock plates, receiver, floorplate, top lever, trigger guard bow & forearm iron. It was designed as a general purpose gun that exhibits the same high character as all grades of LC Smith do. A total of 26,686 Ideal Grades were mfg. 1912-1950, of these only 232 (0.9%) were made in 410. Of those, only 117 have 28" bbls. Bbls. 28" of London steel w/ brass bead. Fixed Mod. & Full chokes. Featherweight frame w/ dbl. triggers & extractors. Ebony tipped splinter forearm & hard rubber capped pistol grip stock of nicely grained black walnut have hand checkering. LOP: 13 7/8" over original buttplate. DAC: 1 3/4". DAH: 2 3/4". Stock is cast off. WEIGHT: 5 lbs., 10 oz. CONDITION: bbls. retain 95% lightly worn blue w/ muzzle wear. Action retains over 80% vivid case colors w/ slight fading & spots of freckling in carry areas. Forearm has moderately worn original finish showing a few light scratches & marks. Original stock finish show spots of wear & gun case impressions w/ scattered scratches & sm. dents. Stock is cracked between right lock & top tang w/ scrape to the right of the top lever. Top lever nicely right of center. Action is slightly loose on frame. Very good bright bores. (21-326/DS). CURIO. $10,000-13,500.
