Cal. 7.65mm Luger. S# 3880v. Beautiful Swiss, Mauser Banner Luger, 1906/34, one of approximately 1800 pistols scattered in the serial range 3600v-3900v, assembled with rust blued frame and salt blued barrel marked "Kal. 7.65" with matching magazine and crisp commercial holster/strap. Often considered one of the most beautiful Lugers to have been assembled by Mauser, this high condition example has a 4.75" barrel marked "Kal 7.65", drift adjustable front sight and “V” notch rear sight. Similar features to the M1906, Swiss Cross in Sunburst over chamber, but Mauser Banner on middle toggle link. Fully matching. Serial number with “V” suffix on forward frame, all digits repeated under bbl. and left side receiver. Last two digits on the usual small parts including the firing pin. Unnumbered grip safety and grips. MAGS: very good factory extruded with aluminum base marked 3880v retained single pin through dimples. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: chocolate brown commercial holster, inner lid inked "4189" in concert with previous ownership; near excellent holster with supple leather and intact, original stitching. CONDITION: crisp 98-99% original finish, the right side of barrel with a small line of superficial nicks extending back from the muzzle band, minimal holster wear with very faint freckling of the grip straps. Straw a little faded in usual contact areas, no suggestion of any touch-up. Discreetly import marked using a fine laser etching method in an unobtrusive area. Near excellent grips. Bright bore and near excellent manual mechanics. You will have to look very hard to find a better, untouched, all matching example! PROVENANCE: From the esteemed collection of Paul Regnier, Switzerland. (20-1424/LA). CURIO. $5,000-7,000.
