ARMY REVOLVER WITH MATCHING FACTORY BOX & FACTORY LETTER. Cal. 45 Colt. S# 93430SA. Bbl. 7 1/2". 1 of only 500 Model P-1871 Single Action Army revolvers mfg. by Colt during the late 1970s, that feature an all blue finish, with a 7 1/2" bbl. This example, mfg. in 1977, is marked "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" on the left side of the bbl., with "COLT"S PT.F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 2-line patent information, closely followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit the aforementioned all blue finish, save for the sides of the the hammer, which are appropriately polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt gold medallion smooth walnut grips. Standard SAA pattern blade front sight and notched rear sight. All numbers are matching and include the frame, cyl., as well as the left side of the grip straps (beneath the grip panels). UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching factory box, as well as a Colt factory letter, indicating that this example was 1 of 4 Model P-1871 revolvers shipped to the Kittery Trading Post in Kittery, ME on December 19th of 1977. CONDITION: near new, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting a thin layer of what appears to be factory grease overall. Left side of trigger exhibits a diminutive spot of light silvering. Mirror bore, exhibiting grease and retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips are excellent overall. Exterior of box exhibits some mild wear, with a tear to the left side of the end label flap, 1 missing small interior flap, and a small hole on the underside, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. A near new example of a Colt P-1871 Single Action Army revolver, that even the discerning collector would find to be an extremely difficult example to upgrade from. (24-2354/MLW). MODERN. $1,800-2,700.
