CARBINE. Cal. 30 Carb. S# 4845280. Bbl. 18", marked "W" behind front sight & marked w/ "WP" proof. "P" proof at midpoint of bbl. Flip type rear sight. Blade front sight w/ protective ears marked "N". Carbine from the 4th S# block ranging from March 1944 to May 1944. Unmarked narrow bbl. band. Stamped swivel marked "QU". Straight cut slide marked "UN-Q". Receiver made w/ detachable mainspring housing. Rnd. bolt marked "EM-Q". Fabricated trigger housing marked "Q-TX". Smooth push button safety. Mag. catch marked "EP-Q". Straight hammer marked "LP-Q". Low wood oval cut walnut buttstock marked "Q-RMC" in sling slot & marked on right side of butt w/ "crossed cannons". 2 Rivet walnut handguard w/ deep sighting groove marked "Q-RMC". MAGS: 1-15 rd. marked "UQ". CONDITION: stock set has good original finish w/ light wear, staining & scattered handling marks. Handguard has tiny crack at rear of sighting groove. Metal has 75% original dark parkerizing w/ light wear & spots of missing finish. Very good shiny bore w/ sharp lands. (21-3589/RW). CURIO. $1,750-2,500.
