GRADE SHOTGUN WITH SINGLE TRIGGER, AUTOMATIC EJECTORS, VENTILATED RIB, AND BEAVERTAIL FOREND. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 108418. Bbls. 30", engraved "L. C. SMITH Crown GRADE" & "MADE TO ORDER BY THE Hunter Arms Co Inc FULTON, N.Y." on tops. Bbls. are fitted w/ raised flat matted ventilated rib set w/ 2 ivory beads. Engine turned bbl. flats are stamped w/ S#, grade & "M.A.C" proofs. Casehardened regular frame action features Hunter One trigger & non automatic safety. Action is engraved in typical "Crown" style w/ scroll, triangles & bursts of flowers, all w/in geometric borders. Lockplates are fully engraved in a similar manner w/ scroll surrounding nicely detailed & etched attractive vignettes of dogs; a pair of setters on left side, looking back over their shoulders & pointing. Right side pictures a pair of pointers, one pointing, the other honoring, in tall vegetation. A crown is inlaid in gold on top lever pivot. Somewhat crotch figured American walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14 1/8" over Hawkins pad w/ black leather face. Closely spaced point pattern checkering w/ sm. flourish on back line wraps over top of grip. Matching lg. beavertail schnabeled ejector forend has usual J-spring release w/ secondary knurled latch in guitar shaped escutcheon. Bore diameters: left - .726, choke .038 (full), right - .726, choke .038 (full). Wall thickness: left - .029, right - .022. DAC: 1 9/16". DAH: 2 1/4". Neutral cast. LOP: 14 1/8". WEIGHT: 8 lbs. 0 oz. CONDITION: exceptionally fine. Metal parts retain over 95% original finish w/ only some high edge wear on action & rib w/ some slight silvering to trigger guard tang & sides of fences. Stocks retain nearly all of their original finish, oxidized, dull. Checkering very lightly worn. Bright shiny bores. Mechanically very fine. A superb example w/ almost all available options.
