Cal. 30 Carb. S# 4893278. Bbl. 18". Bbl. marked behind front sight "INLAND MFG. DIV." over "GENERAL MOTORS 12-43". Flip type rear sight marked on left side "WSI". Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Sight base is marked w/ "N". Narrow bbl. band. Rectangular stamped swivel marked "UI". Straight cut slide marked "PI". Flat bolt marked "AI" & milled trigger housing marked "INLAND". Push button safety. Mag. catch marked "E.I.". Straight cut hammer marked "I-I". Original low wood walnut stock set. Forend is unmarked, but has correct milled relief on left side. Pistol grip has circle "P" on top left side. Markings at bottom of grip are indistinct but appear as "RI" over "8". Spanner wrench notches are present in nut plate. Wire buttstock & buttplate are correct. Leather cheek pad appears to be original. Vintage steel rivets are not rolled but have solid rounded heads which appear to be hand staked. Cast checkered buttplate has correct numbered marking. Two rivet handguard is marked "IO". MAGS: 1-15 rd. marked "IU". CONDITION: forend & pistol grip have moderate wear, staining, scratches & handling marks throughout. Forend has notable worn area on left side from contact w/ buttplate. Handguard has slightly better finish. Folding stock parts turning gray & patina w/ wear & areas of light oxidation. Leather pad has notably worn dark stained appearance & has notable wear plus loss of material at front & top rear corners. Balance of metal retains 75% arsenal rework parkerization w/ thinning & light wear. Very good shiny bore. (22-1842/RW). CURIO. $ 2,750-3,500.
