Cal. 28 Ga. S# 38 (on right action rail). Bbl. 29" w/ varnished woven twine wrap has bead front sight on brass muzzle ring, receiver ring is stamped "G. HANSON" "PATENT" behind cross slotted screw which acts as rear sight. Bolt action type firing mechanism has usual cocking lanyard replaced by homemade brass cocking handle w/ steel "T" grip. Frame has small bulbous ebonized hardwood grip, rear of frame has rectangular slot for attachment of shoulder stock (not present). Nils Gustav Hanson received US patent number 541117 dated October 1st, 1895 for this gun. Few examples exist, highest noted number is 337. CONDITION: good to fine, metal w/ traces of original blue, mostly gray to brown patina w/ some freckling. Varnish on cane wraps has darkened & has some nicks. Grip finish is good. Shiny bore.
