SCARCE WWII FINNISH VKT MODEL 27 BOLT ACTION

RIFLE. Cal. 7.62x54R. S# 0438. After Finland's independence in 1917 & recognition in 1919, the Army procured many small arms, including a considerable amount of Russian 1891 Three Line Mosin-Nagant rifles. Tikka & VKT were tasked w/ reconfiguring them to the Model 27 variation. Approx. 3,000 mfg. 1927-1934 (S# range 0001 to 3000). CAI imported 27" bbl. w/ protected blade front sight & ladder rear sight up to 3,000m. Bbl. shank w/ 1932 date. Rifle is configured w/ recycled hex receiver, mag. assembly, bolt (numbered to match), hardwood stock set & buttplate. Stock has earlier front band w/ bayonet lug, inletting for information disk (missing), & filled wood inlet for rear sling slot. Correct period SKT 32 marked leather sling on front swivel (in front sling slot), & toeline mounted sling swivel. CONDITION: good overall as arsenal refinished w/ marks & wear. Blue fading to gray/brown w/ edge wear & prior pitting evident on mag. assembly. Buttstock has 7" x 1.5" wood split w/ previous repair along w/ sm. cracks throughout. Good bore w/ strong rifling.
