SHOT TRAP GUN. Cal. 12 Ga. 2 3/4". S# 1177. The 32" bbl. w/ solid matted top rib is marked "THE YOUNG REPEATING ARMS CO. COLUMBUS O." in milled out portion of rib. Slim case hardened action operates by pushing sm. lever release on bottom to rear & sliding bbl. forward. To load 2 shells, place one in chamber, the other in lifter & pull bbl. into battery. It can now be fired. Upon sliding forward, spent shell is ejected & new cartridge is aligned, ready for the next shot after closing action. Action is engraved w/ sprays of scroll & light scroll borders surrounding circular vignettes of game birds; a quail on left & snipe on right. Bottom of action is engraved "Pat'd June 15 1901" "1177 (SN)" & "Sept 16 1902". Rnd. knob pistol grip buttstock of well marbled & figured European walnut measures 13 3/4" over checkered hard rubber buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Fixed forend w/ abrupt schnabled tip & finger groove at top is nicely checkered around bottom. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: .729". Restriction: .038" (FULL). STOCK: DAH: 2 15/16". DAC: 1 9/16". LOP: 13 3/4". CAST: Neutral. WEIGHT: 7 lb. 12 oz. CONDITION: very fine. Bbl. retaining over 80% original blue w/ some light flecking & silvering. Action retains 70-80% faded original case hardening color w/ some light scratches. Stocks retain over 90% original varnish w/ a large number of marks both fairly light & heavy.
