POLE.
1) SERBIAN. Flag measures approx. 35 1/2" x 24". This flag has 3 equally sized stripes having red on the top, blue in the center & white at the bottom. Construction & style of this flag indicates mfg. in the late 19th or early 20th century. Serbian flags exist both with & without crests in the left center of the flag. Flag is tacked to a wooden pole measuring 48 1/2" in length. CONDITION: flag is somewhat faded with a few scattered moth holes & losses.
2) SPANISH. Flag measures approx. 30" x 28". This flag has 2 smaller red vertical stripes & a white center. The center reads, "REGIMIENTO INFANTERIA DE CERINOLA NO 42." with a Spanish crest. It appears to be a regimental banner for the Cerinola Regiment which adopted this name in 1899 & was previously known as the Canarias Regiment. Flag is attached to a bamboo pole measuring 74" in length. CONDITION: the top & bottom edges of this flag are raw. The flag shows some fading & minor discoloration but displays well.
3) BRITISH. Flag measures approx. 81 1/2" x 50 1/2". A British Union Jack style flag of heavy weight cotton with 15 loops at the hoist. Flag exhibits machine sewing & likely dates from the WWII era. Oral history of this flag states that it was made from German uniform material to welcome British troops returning after the D-day invasion. Flag was obtained from the
War Museum in Dadizele Belgium (West Flanders).
CONDITION: flag has a few threadbare areas & the colors are a bit faded. Otherwise it is quite strong & displays well.
4) FLAG POLE. A 20th century wood & brass flag pole with a base that is approx. 12" in diameter & a pole that is 96" tall. The finial is in the shape of a Maltese Cross & measures 3 1/4" across. CONDITION: pole & base show light use. (02-16457-4/BF). $300-500.
