DONATION: Sheep Skull In Drift by James Bama. This western image shows the scull of what I think is a desert big horn or a Dall sheep scull in either a snow or sand drift. Its printed in sepia tones and is an awesome piece of art. “Bob Edgar is the founder of Old Trail Town, an authentic restoration of an Old west town located near Cody, Wyoming. He and I had gone together to a deserted cow camp to gather some old wagon wheeels for his collection. Along with the wheels, we also found an old one-room, sod-roofed schoolhouse. This sheep Skull was resting on top and Bob insisted I take it as ‘payment’ for my help. It was in the fall and I knew the snow wouldn’t be long in coming. So, I left it outside. Snow has a wounderful way of transforming things- making them more dramatic then they ordinarily are. And that’s exactly what happened with the sheep skull. It wasn’t too long before Mother Nature had worked her ‘magic’ with the season’s first snowfall.”
Sheep Skull In Drift by James Bama was released in August 1980 but painted in 1972 as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 1,500 Big Horn sheep fine art print with a 17x12-1/2 image size.
