Cal. 10.55x25R. S# 1759. Bbl. 7.2" w/ integral inverted V sight blade behind flared muzzle; mostly rnd. (4 5/8") changing to octagon at frame (1"). Mfg. 1884. All matching parts, even screws, except cyl. axle that is #5069 along w/ crown R proof. Loading gate is unnumbered. Side plate has oval "S&S.V.C.S.C.C.H.SUHL" stamping. Various sm. assembly proofs throughout. Butt cap regiment marked "28.A.8.27". Trigger & hammer are in the white. Smooth European walnut grips having metal butt cap w/ extremely robust lanyard ring that is also matching. In use by Germany from 1882-1919. Lg. sturdy rev. w/ safety lever yet mfg. w/out extractor requiring removal of cyl. & use of pivot pin to individually remove spent cartridges. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Very good to excellent brown flap holster w/ buckle & strap retention. Dual angled belt loops on back. Lower front mid point of flap marked w/ "AN" & w/ what appears to be an adjoining script "S" over 12/88. Underside of flap has long rectangular boxed ink marking plus another boxed stamped marking w/ unknown characters plus "B". CONDITION: Very good+ brown toned finish w/ light high point wear. Touched up cylinder axle, screws, safety and dismounting levers. Very good grips, lightly sanded & revarnished, w/ handling marks; all metal is proud of grips. Fair to good bore w/ distinct rifling & numerous areas of cleaned moderate pitting. An extremely nice rig as issued to the German military, whose holster would be difficult to improve upon.
