The Unertl scope was recommended for adoption by Marine Corp. Equipment Board after studying various telescopes under field conditions. The sniping combination served in WWII & the Korean conflict until it"s eventual replacement by the M1 Garand Sniper rifle. This rifle has a 24" bbl. marked "SA" flaming bomb "7-42". Screw in lens caps for scope. Includes extremely rare Micarta carrying case w/ quick detachable cap retains by strap. Case has inside spring loaded conical mount for objective scope bell.
