Cal. 30-06. S# 1402137. Bbl. 24" Star gauge by Springfield Armory dated "3-32". Action S# is also of this approx. date. Nickel steel bolt has matching number electro penciled in. Bolt has cocking knob which is correct for this date. Action has been fitted w/ Lyman 48 receiver sight & scope blocks for Winchester A5 are installed on receiver ring & bbl. (Hand guard cutaway). Model 1922 type stock w/ pistol grip has checkered buttplate w/ trap. Inspectors initials "D. A. L." are on left side of stock. Rifle is equipped w/ sling. Sights have P. J. O' Hare protectors. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: signed letter from Lt. Col. Brophy's daughter regarding this lot. NOTE: We have been contacted by Wayne Gagner or Springfield Research who informed us that this Springfield was originally a sales gun and the original records are available. CONDITION: metal parts retain over 95% original Parkerized finish w/ some light edge wear. Stock shows a few light handling marks in its original oil finish.
