Springfield Armory's contender in the wildly popular FN-FAL market included this pristine example, the SAR-48 MATCH in the bush rifle configuration. Imported between 1985 & 1989 & originally manufactured by IMBEL, Brazil, American civilians finally had the opportunity to own a quality metric pattern variant of the battle rifle known as the "Right Arm of the Free World". This semi-automatic Springfield offering was available in 1 of 3 configurations. The 18" bush rifle which we have here, the 21" standard rifle & the heavy match configuration which boasted a large wooden forend & a heavy bipod. Front sight is protected post. Rear sight is graduating peep sight adj. 200 to 600 meters. Black plastic forend, buttstock & pistol grip. Pistol grip contains factory cleaning kit. Top folding carry handle. Folding bipod closes clean on forend. Non reciprocating left side charging handle. Left side safety selector. Left side receiver markings include "SAR-48 7.62mm SA-11379". Right side receiver markings include "Springfield Armory Geneseo, IL USA 1005-SA-48-MATCH" & crossed canon Springfield logo. Receiver bottom marked "IMBEL ITAJUB" BRAZIL". MAGS: 1 20 rd steel. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory Springfield cardboard box. CONDITION: shiny bore w/ strong rifling. All black painted metal. Exposed surfaces have complete & uniform finish w/ no noticeable blemishes. Stocks are free of any noticeable blemish or defect.
