Bbl. is marked “SA 12 62”, 2 “P” proofs, “M” & defense acceptance mark. Bbl. is marked on left side, behind front sight w/ “NM”. Operating rod is marked “RA” & “NM”. Gas cyl. marked “NM”. Front sight is marked “NM” & “062”. Rear sight body & windage knob marked “NM”. Aperture is marked “NM 595”. High hump gas cyl. lock & single slot gas cyl. lock screw. Trigger group parts marked “SA” & stamped trigger guard. Walnut stock set. Stock has correct arsenal type bedding, including evidence of bedding to tighten front handguard. Stock is marked on left side w/ defense acceptance eagle. Is marked under grip w/ circle P proof. Has additional Type II National Match rifle features w/ glass bedded stock & last 4 digits of S# marked in white in bbl. channel. Trap buttplate & unmarked period leather 1907 type sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original 1965 dated sales receipt from Erie Army Depot that notes the sale price of $148.00. CONDITION: wood & metal retain very high degree of original finish w/ very light wear commensurate w/ careful use. Rear sight has sm. red markings, indicating 0 settings. Bbl. has approx. 1.75" long area where finish was removed over “NM” marking. Sling has wear, flexing, & sm. cracks. Very good shiny bore w/ sharp rifling. (20-1453/RW). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
