SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH CASE & ACCESSORIES. Cal. 22 LR. S# 71818T75. Bbl.6 3/4". Medalist semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Belgium in 1975 and imported by Brown Arms Company. The left side of the bbl. is marked "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY/ MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q.", with ".22 L.R. BROWNING PATENTS/ MADE IN BELGIUM" marked on the right. The slide and bbl. exhibit extensive bordered relief engraved scrollwork on a matte punch dot background, with matching bordered scroll engraving present on the rear of the frame, as well as some light scroll engraved on the trigger guard and trigger guard webs. Underside of bbl. and left side of slide exhibit Belgian proofs. The original blue finish has been purposefully removed, with the balance now retaining a pleasing dull gray patina overall. Trigger retains its gold finish. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece checkered wood grip and schnabel tip "forend", with both featuring scroll engraving on either side. MAGS: 1 10-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: standard Medalist black leatherette case, featuring a red fabric interior and containing 1 wood ammunition block, 4 target weights, 1 screwdriver, as well as an original manual. Case lid retains its brass plaque, which is engraved "LARRY ERSKINE/ JULY-10-1969/ SMITTY'S SPORT SHOP/ BATTLE CREEK". CONDITION: excellent, with the finish seemly purposefully removed and metal components retaining the aforementioned gray patina, with some small scattered spots of age related discoloration. Mirror bore, exhibiting a few small concentrated spots of light to mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grip and forend are excellent, exhibiting a few minor superficial handling marks overall. Case exhibits some exterior wear from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. An exceptionally attractive, professionally executed relief engraved Belgian Browning Medalist pistol that is sure to be an eye catching example in one's collection. (24-1986/MLW). MODERN. $3,500-5,000.
