SIDELOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN. Cal. 16 Ga., 2 3/4" S# 134187. AYA, known for "affordable" SxS guns sometimes made guns of exceptional quality like this well made & engraved gun which has 25" chopper lump bbls. fitted w/ raised matted ventilated rib. Tops of bbls. engraved w/ AYA full name & address, along w/ "CANONES" "CHROME-NIQUEL" "BELLOTA". Bbl. flats stamped w/ Spanish nitro proofs for 16 ga. 2 3/4". Case hardened sidelock action is stocked to the fences & features automatic safety ("S" inlaid in gold), hidden 3rd fastener, bushed strikers, side clips, gold band tumbler end cocking indicators & AYA single selective trigger. Action & lockplates engraved w/ truly exceptional meticulously executed miniscule scroll surrounding rose bouqets in best British style. It seems I can't say enough about this engraving. Many best British products could not compare. Maker's name & address are on bottom of action & blued top lever has matching scroll. Blued trigger guard bow engraved w/ larger shaded open scroll. S# is on tang. Lightly mottled & somewhat figured European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14" over serrated hard rubber buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching beavertail ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BARRELS: Bore diameter: Right .660", Left .655". Restriction: Right .009" (IC), Left .022" (MOD). Min. Wall Thickness: Right .027", Left .026", STOCK: LOP: 14". DAC: 1 1/2-". DAH: 2 5/16". Cast: 0. WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 11 oz. CONDITION: exceptionally fine. Bbls. retaining approx. 95% original blue, silvered on sharp edges of rib & around muzzles. Action retains approx. 90% original case hardening color. Locks retain essentially all of their color. Top lever thumb piece is somewhat silvered. Trigger guard has perhaps a hint of silver on edges of bow. Stocks retain nearly all of their original varnish finish w/ a scattering of light marks & some crazing. Buttplate is a later replacement. Checkering is very lightly worn. Bores are bright & shiny w/ no evidence of dents or their removal. Action is tight, bbls. are on face. Ejectors are strong & in time. Trigger appears to work well. (21-1612/MGM). CURIO. $3,000-5,000.
