Smith & Wesson .44 Hand Ejector Second Model Target Double Action Revolver, #27444, .44 S&W Spec. cal., 6.5'' pinned barrel, blue finish, with factory checkered square butt walnut grips. Patridge front sight, square notched adjustable rear sight. Case hardened hammer and smooth trigger. Barrel, cylinder, ejector star and frame with visible matching numbers. Shipped from the factory on March 28, 1927, to W.I. Lucas Sporting Goods Co., Colo. Springs, CO, with factory letter signed by S&W Historian Roy G. Jinks. Approx. 98% deep rich factory blue finish remains, and with the exception of a few spots of very fine corrosion to the cylinder, this revolver is in excellent overall condition. Muzzle with minor wear; left side of frame in front of cylinder with one noticeable fine scratch. Cylinder with a light index line. Barrel address, etc. are crisp and clear. Grips with clean checkering and show normal signs of age and wear as shallow surface dents and scratches to the bottom edge. Hammer and trigger retain approx. 80% case colors, with most of the fading being to the left side of the trigger. Crisp action, bright bore.
