Cal. 30 Luger. S# 22017. Bbl. 4-3/4" w/ sawtooth blade sight & full number plus Swiss cross proof. Exactly 17,874 mfg. from S# 15216 to 33089. Some collectors refer to this as 1924 Swiss but actual production likely predates by a couple years. First Luger not made in Germany. Swiss markings on toggle having flat checkered knobs (later examples not checkered). Receiver w/ boxed cross over "M" proof on left along w/ "P" indicating commercial or personal sales release by Swiss government; right side of receiver & frame w/ Swiss cross. Strawed takedown lever, trigger & safety; ejector is blued plus appropriate internal areas in the white. Matching numbers on breech block, both toggle links, receiver, trigger, grip safety & border checkered walnut grips; left grip not thoroughly examined as back side has white painted area w/ label on top inked "Alispach, Carl" and not easily readable address. Extractor marked "F27" w/ Swiss cross & sideplate numbered "90"; takedown lever not marked. MAGS: good original 8 rd. mag. properly w/ wood base w/ no proofs or numbers. Stained finish throughout w/ cleaned oxidation on right side & spine. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: very good cordovan colored flap holster w/ stud & strap retention plus double belt loops & 2 D rings for shoulder straps. Oval maker's mark between loops of "G.HINTERMANN, SATTLER, GATTIKON (Zurich)" all over "09". Underside of flap has boxed Swiss cross over "K" & user inked "Robert Howald, Batt. 70" & from a different time & lettering "Howald". CONDITION: very good overall appearance w/ typical Luger high point wear to include sideplate, frame rails & at muzzle. Very good clear straw colors. Some very faint peppery oxidation on grip safety. Very good appearing grips w/ spot of diamond top wear on left & chip by safety lever. Better appearing right. Near excellent bore. (22-4762/NW). CURIO. $1200-1800.
