DOUBLE BBL. TRAP GUN. Cal. 10 Ga. S# 20541. The 32" heavy Damascus bbls. w/ matted rib are unmarked on tops. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ S# & "2". Cartridge extractor is of early type w/ rotating drum. Case hardened sidelock action w/ rotary bolt has patent dates & S# engraved on watertable & features automatic safety, bushed strikers & dbl. triggers. Action has some line border engraving. Lockplates are also line border engraved & have whorls of scroll at centers. "L. C. Smith" is engraved at front of each plate. Blued trigger guard w/ scroll on bow has S# on tang. Rnd. knob pistol grip buttstock of somewhat marbled & figured European walnut measures 14 1/4" over hard rubber buttplate w/ falling duck & dog embossed device at center flanked by "THE" "L.C. SMITH" "TRAPGUN". Closely spaced point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter forend w/ shaped & inlet ebony tip has J-spring release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .796", L .795". Restriction: R .033" (FULL), L .027" (MOD). Min. Wall Thickness: R .042", L .040". STOCK: DAH: 3". DAC: 1 15/16". LOP: 14 1/4". CAST: neutral. WEIGHT: 10 lb. 13 oz. CONDITION: very fine. Bbls. retaining approx 95% original damascus finish w/ some scratches & marks. Action retains approx. 90% original case hardening color silvered on fences & beads. Lockplates retain nearly all of their color. Trigger guard retains about 30% original blue, mostly flaked. Stocks retain over 90% of their original varnish finish w/ a good scattering of light marks.
