First time donor Holt Lake Lodge has graciously donated a 7-day Black Bear Hunt for 1 hunter. This hunt is for 2020 or 2021 and bear can be hunted with a rifle, bow or black powder. Accommodation is a Sportsmen Cabin. The hunt originates in Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan, Canada. Transportation during hunt is mostly by boat. Hunt includes trophy prep and field prep, flight on Voyage Air from Buffalo Narrows to camp. Not included are transportation of trophy to shipper, license, meals. You will need to bring your own food and plan your meal preparation. Holt Lake is a remote camp with miles of shoreline with baits setup on 3 lakes. During your float plane ride into camp you will see the habitat is continuous lakes, rivers, forest and bogs. Camp is accessible by Float Plane only – which is included in price of the hunt. They only hunt 7 Bears per year thus ensuring our quality! Their remote lodge offers you mature bears that are not harassed or educated. North American Black Bear come in colors from blonde to brown, cinnamon and black. They have a good population of color phase bears. Harvested bears average well over 6ft nose to tail. 7-foot bears are not uncommon and our baits are active and are being hit hard before you arrive! Your experienced guide is there to ensure an enjoyable hunting experience and when you are not hunting you can be fishing for Northern Pike or Lake Trout with no additional cost. We have both tree stands and ground blinds. They use cameras at the baits which provide the time, size and color of each bear coming to the bait.
There is a generator in camp for freezers and your guide will process your bear hide for the best taxidermy results. Meat processing is optional, please inform them when booking if you would like to take meat home with you.
The spring bear hunting runs from approximately May 30th to June 20th.
7-day hunts - Usually Sunday to Sunday, but we will try to be flexible.
Excellent permanent cabin facilities, with comfortable beds and common area to relax in. Running water with hot shower in 3-piece bathroom including flush toilet.
