Savage Model 1899A Lever Action Takedown Rifle, #207462, .30-30 Win. cal., 26" round barrel, blue finish. Smooth walnut straight grip stock and Schnabel forend with matching serial number stamped on the interior, ending with smooth steel crescent buttplate; providing a 13" LOP. Rifle also features a replacement dovetailed Rocky Mountain blade front sight, Savage marked standard U-notch rear sight with elevator, tang is drilled and tapped for a sight, and color case hardened lever. Mfg'd 1919. Rifle is in good overall condition, retaining approx. 75%-80% thinning and toning factory finish, with scattered light scratches along the barrel. Receiver shows edge wear, handling marks, with finish loss primarily on the underside. Lever assembly displays muted color case hardened finish with brighter colors in the protected areas. Factory markings are clear. Wood with scattered indentations and a " chip at the rear, left side of the forend. Additionally, there is a 3" hairline lateral crack extending from the rear of the tang down the left side of the wrist, that does not appear to affect the integrity of the stock. Action functions smoothly. Bore is good and primarily bright; rifling shows moderate wear and is clearly defined. Est.: $700-$900. (C&R)
