Savage Model 1899B Lever Action Rifle, #106396, .30-30 Win. cal., 26" octagon barrel, blue finish. Smooth walnut forend and straight grip stock, ending with a smooth steel crescent buttplate; providing a 13" LOP. Rifle also has a dovetailed German silver knife blade front sight, standard elevator U-notch rear sight, internal rotary magazine with brass cartridge counter, and color case hardened lever. Mfg'd 1910. Rifle is in fair overall condition, retaining approx. 55%-60% thinning and toning blue mixed with dark patina, frosting and some areas of scattered light erosion on the receiver. Additionally, there is dried oil at the wood line. Sides of the receiver have been aggressively cleaned, leaving grooves on the right and underside. Lever assembly shows dull, darkened color case hardened finish, brighter in the protected areas. Stock with indentations, scratches, and crude repair at the tang, leaving it proud at the rear and exposing two 2.5" lateral hairline cracks. Stock has also been sanded and lightly refinished, leaving the toe proud. Action functions well. Dark bore is fair with moderate erosion and frosting; rifling is clearly visible. Est.: $500-$800.
