Savage Model 1899B Lever Action Rifle, #15307, .303 Savage cal., 26" octagon barrel, blue finish. Smooth walnut forend and straight grip stock, ending with a smooth steel crescent buttplate; providing a 13" LOP. Rifle also features a dovetailed Lyman blade front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight, internal rotary magazine with brass cartridge counter, and color case hardened lever. Mfg'd 1899. Rifle is in very good overall condition, retaining approx. 65%-70% thinning finish on the barrel, with general marks from use. Receiver has worn to gray displaying scattered salt and pepper blemishes and general marks from use. Lever assembly shows dull, darkened color case hardened finish, brighter in the protected areas. Stock is in good condition as sanded and refinished, with indentations and a 2" hairline crack on the left side of the forend; buttplate is slightly proud at the toe. Action functions well. Bore is good with some areas of moderate frosting, particularly at the muzzle; rifling is shallow but clearly visible. Est.: $500-$700. (C&R)
