American made single-shot hammerless box-lock break barrel shotgun chambered for 2-3/4" 16 gauge shells, and manufactured in Utica, NY. This Model 220 was in production from 1938 until 1965. Shotgun features blued finish, an approximately 28" round barrel, steel bead front sight, fixed choke measures 'Improved Modified' with a drop-in gauge, checkered side throw top lever, smooth curved trigger, and serrated sliding tang safety. Bore is excellent condition. The hardwood furniture consists of a smooth semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock, smooth forend, 14" length-of-pull, 1-3/8" drop at comb, 2-1/2" drop at heel, and a serrated black plastic butt plate. The original blued finish retained is approximately 94% with minimal thinning on the receiver, edge wear, and a brown patina starting to show through where the bluing is thin (receiver and end of the barrel). The aluminum trigger guard has some paint chipping from it. Metal displays no rust, and there was no deformation observed. Furniture wood is in good condition with scratches, thinning finish in areas, edge wear, and small blemishes. The action is smooth and crisp with the barrel falling slowly under its own weight, and the top lever resting to the right of the tangs centerline. The bore is bright and shiny. The markings are sharp and legible.
