American made break-barrel box-lock combination gun chambered for .22 Long rifle and 3" 20 Gauge shells, and manufactured in Westfield, MA. The Model 24D was introduced in 1971 with a few alterations that help to date this firearm. Some of the alterations comprise of the deleting of the game scene engravings in 1974, and the deletion of the forend checkering in 1976. These factors suggest that this firearm was made between 1974 and 1976. Firearm features blue finished barrels, color-case hardened receiver, approximately 24" barrels, 20 Gauge bore measures 'Improved Cylinder' with a drop-in gauge, raised serrated blade front sight, elevation adjustable sporting rear sight, smooth curved trigger, external hammer with serrated spurs and barrel selector, checkered top lever, extractors, and a plastic trigger guard. The hardwood furniture consists of a semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock with pressed checkering at the wrist, pressed checkered forend, checkered black plastic grip cap with a white spacer, sling stud on barrel band, sling stud at the bottom of the shoulder stock, 14-1/4" length-of-pull, and a black Pachmayr ventilated rubber recoil pad with white and black spacers. The original blued finish retained is approximately 99% with superficial blemishes. The color-case finish retained is approximately 99% with very light scratches. Metal display a small area of rust at the chambers, and the were a couple of small dings on the top of the receiver in front of the hammer. 20 Gauge bore is bright and shiny, and the .22 Long Rifle bore is bright with strong rifling. The action is smooth and crisp with the barrel falling slowly under its own weight, and the top lever rests at the centerline of the tang. Furniture wood is in near near excellent condition with minor handling blemishes. The 'Series M, N, and P' designations were hard to differentiate.
Condition is NRA Good.
