Savage Model 99RS Pre-War Lever Action Rifle, #343602, .300 Sav. cal., 24" barrel, brass bead ramped blade front and two-leaf folding rear sights, blue finish, internal rotary magazine, brass cartridge counter, checkered wood two-piece pistol grip stock with sling swivels and a ribbed steel Savage marked buttplate, period Lyman aperture sight at the rear of the receiver. Mfg'd 1933. Rifle is in fine overall condition retaining approx. 90%-92% toning blue finish, with scratches and mars consistent with field use. There is even highpoint edgewear along the receiver, and it has not been drilled and tapped. Lever assembly retains significant muted case hardening, particularly in protected areas. Stock is very good with dents and compressions. There are a couple small mars on the left side of the forend. The ribbed steel buttplate is marked "SVG" and provides a 13-3/4" LOP. Action functions smoothly, bore is good with strong rifling. Est.: $800-$1,000. (C&R)
