The rear sight is a u-notch adjustable for elevation dovetailed into the barrel. grip/stock configuration & condition: the refinished furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, smooth forend, and a checkered metal buttplate. The buttplate shows only light freckling. The furniture shows a few pressure dings and drag lines. There is a very small chip starting at the top of the butt where it meets the buttplate. The lop measures 13. 25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The furniture rates in very good plus condition. type of finish: bluedfinish originality: refinishedbore condition: the bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with faint fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9. 5/10. overall condition: this rifle retains about 98% of its nonoriginal metal finish. The finish is very strong showing only a few small scratches and some freckling on the forend cap. The screw heads show little to no tooling and retain turnable slots.
