This rifle was the property of the late Phil Spangenberger, one of the most noted experts on 19th-and early 20th-century American firearms, TV personality, long time contributor to True West, Guns & ammo and many other magazines. he taught many actors how to shoot in many westerns. Included with the rifle is a article where Phil tested this Shiloh rifle, carbine & S.C. Robinson for Guns & Ammo November 1977 issue, included with the article is a copy of a "Old West" photo of Phil & two other gentlemen holding these rifles. Single-Shot, black powder, falling block percussion rifle. Shiloh, Farmingdale, New York copy of the Civil War model 1863 3 band rifled musket. Similar in all respects to the Berdan Sharps. 30' .54 caliber blued round barrel, with case-hardened components. Front blade, elevation adjustable rear flip ladder sights. Patch box on right side of stock, sling swivels, lever lock. The Bore is excellent/bright, good rifling, finish is near excellent with a few minor scratches, walnut stock & forearm are excellent, two-cock hammer action is crisp/tight and the breech block lock-up tight.
