Simson & Co., Suhl Waffenfabriken Scalloped Frame Boxlock Drilling, #10621, 12 ga.x12 ga. 2-1/2'' x nominal 7.7x57Rmm cal., blue finish, 26-1/4'' Krupp-Stahl barrels with 7/16'' matted rib, automatic flip-up rear sight with blade front sight and European claw mount bases, Full and I.M. chokes, top-tang rifle barrel selector, double triggers with adjustable front, single crossbolt with ejectors and Greener style side safety, nitro proof marks on barrels. The uniquely designed action has two widely set recesses in the frame with separate knuckle pins which accept parallel double underlugs jointed to the barrel flats straddling the rifle barrel; frame has two cocking indicator pins and is case colored with fully engraved game scenes featuring two roe deer on the left side and a red deer on the right side bordered by foliate scroll which runs to the floorplate and triggerguard. The figured walnut cheekpiece stock and slim forend are lightly oil finished with 14'' length of pull over a thin checkered horn buttplate; sling swivel loops are 7/8'', weight is 7-1/2 lbs. Overall condition remains good with a tight action, bright bores and crisp triggers. Blue finish is 80% with areas of thinning, traces of case colors remain on the trigger plate. Stock has scattered dings and scratches with worn checkering; toe and buttplate are chipped. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (C&R)
