This is the idea that launched Sitka: a lightly insulated, highly breathable soft shell built to keep you charging in 90% of mountain conditions. It’s the foundation of ‘Turning Clothing Into Gear'. This new iteration is three times more wind resistant than its predecessor, evening out heat retention between whisper-still mornings and howling afternoons. With the improved wind resistance, insulating the entire jacket would cause overheating, especially during periods of high exertion. So we developed a body-mapped, microgrid fleece backer that puts insulation only where you need it. This is exchangeable for size directly with Sitka and we want to thank Sitka for their continued support of SCI and our Chapter in particular.
