Lighthouses dating back to the late 1800 serve as beacons outlining a peninsula where smallmouth bass are harbored within the preferred cool water confines of the crystal-clear inland lakes and ponds throughout Door County. Traverse Death’s Door by ferry at the northern tip and take a step back in time where Icelandic heritage embodied by toughness, independence, and a staunch work ethic thrives on Washington Island. Fish in these waters include Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye, but it’s the Smallmouth that this excursion will target.
