Single action tip-up rimfire revolver made circa 1861 - 1874. Features blued finish, two piece smooth rosewood grips, square butt, spur trigger (no guard), 6" octagonal barrel with solid top rib, fixed sights, 6 shot unfluted cylinder. Bore is good, frosted with pitting, visible continuous rifling. Charge holes are fair condition. Barrel assembly is uniformly dark, brownish gray in color, with slightly rough surface appearance. Frame and cylinder have silvery coloration, some darker colors in protected areas. The serial number matching wood grips are in good condition with slight shrinkage and some rounding at the sharp points. Assembly characters match on the frame, barrel and cylinder. Action has poor operation, cylinder turns but often fails to lock up. The barrel & frame have a loose fit, and assembly numbers were only found on the barrel.
