SN: 139153 '.22/.32 Heavy Frame Target' Vintage small frame double action revolver chambered in .22 Long Rifle, manufactured in Springfield, MA circa 1911-1915. Referred to as the "Bekeart Model" for the San Francisco dealer Philip Bekeart who originally contracted S&W to manufacture this model. This revolver is considered a “True Bekeart” as it was part of the First Bekeart-Pattern Production Run (#138226-139275) and has a special serial number (917) on the butt of the grip. Features a lustrous blued finish, pinned 6" round tapered barrel, pinned blade front sight with bead top, fully-adjustable rear sight, fluted six-shot swing-out cylinder, smooth .240" case hardened trigger, case hardened .240" hammer with knurled spur, five screw round butt I frame and two-piece diamond checkered walnut 'extension' grips with brass S&W medallions. Matching serial numbers are observed on the frame, barrel, cylinder and extractor star. Revolver exhibits approximately 70% of its original blued finish showing high point edge wear, scattered handling marks/losses and drag wear on the cylinder. Action is smooth with good lock-up, the bore is very good, the markings are crisp and the walnut grips are good with wear & minor blemishes. Condition is NRA Good. ***Modern Firearm*** ***C&R Eligible***
