SN: 16046 '2nd Model' Vintage large frame double action revolver manufactured circa 1917 (just before a temporary production hiatus due to WWI), chambered for 44 S&W Special cartridges. Features a blued finish, pinned 5" barrel, half moon front sight, fixed notch rear sight, case hardened smooth trigger, case hardened hammer with knurled spur, fluted six-shot cylinder, no ejector rod shroud, five screw square butt N frame, Magna style checkered wood grips with S&W medallions (later replacements). Matching serial number "16046" on cylinder, ejector & barrel. Matching assembly numbers "601" found on yoke & on frame in yoke recess. Bore and charge holes are in very good condition. Metal surfaces retain 40% deep blued finish, large areas of smooth faded grays, some bare metal, some brown colors, few small areas of pinpricking (including sides of hammer & trigger), scattered patina across barrel. Wood grips are very good. Markings are crisp. Action is smooth with tight lock-up. Condition is NRA Good+ *** C&R Firearm ***
